Our style board for March 2011 is inspired by one of the great icons of Hollywood – Elizabeth Taylor. Ms. Taylor may have passed away this month, but she will forever be in our memories for her incredible acting talent, AIDS activism and especially for her unique eyes.

Lavender is a soft and feminine color that is perfect for weddings set in the freshness of spring, when everything is just starting to bloom and awaken from winter’s slumber.  We love the way it looks when paired with both lights and darks, such as white or a deep aubergine.

Our featured items will receive their own turn in the spotlight with our next blog, which will include all of the links for where you can purchase the items shown above as well as shout-outs to the contributing vendors.

Until then….. be inspired by our lavender-hued board and add a little touch of Old Hollywood glamour to your next event!

Hello world!

Welcome to our new blog spot! We’re so excited to be able to share some of our ideas and tips with you, as well as notes about upcoming sales, promos and events in the boutique!

One of the main things that we are truly excited to be able to bring is our Monthly Styleboard section. Each month, we’ll display 1-2 new styleboards to inspire you with themes, colors and items to put together a perfect event. While most people view a styleboard as inspiration for a wedding, we plan on keeping our boards open for any occasion so that you can use the theme for a wedding, Quinceanera, Sweet Sixteen, birthday party…. you name it!

Each styleboard will also be broken down after its “debute” with a featurette on the profiled items so that you can shop for the items shown. We’ll include links as well as a little bio on the company, when available. We’re firm believers in the power of small businesses, so we also will showcase a lot of talented local businesses and friends that we’ve met along our journey as businesswomen.
