June Bonus Style Board: "Lemon-Lime Time"

Our June bonus board is inspired by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a 501c non-profit organization dedicated to helping find a cure for childhood cancer. It was first started by Alexandra Scott (1996 – 2004), a little girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma – a childhood cancer and since its induction has not only spread awareness of the various forms of childhood cancers that affected millions of children every year, but has also raised more than $40 million dollars in funds to help find a cure.

We decided to do a bonus styleboard this month to not only highlight the various stylish items and looks that can be achieved using a lemon and lime palette, but to also help spread the word on Alex’s Foundation.

Instead of a cash bar at your event, try holding a lemonade-themed drink bar with a Tip Jar for donations. Tablescapes, Decor & Favors:

We chose the tablescape by Martha Stewart for its elegant, yet beachy, feel. The red coral (or painted manzanita branches, if coral is unavailable) adds just a hint of extra color while the brown sets a glamorous tone. Add an assortment of sea shells, cattleya orchids and light blue candles [set in sand-filled glass globes] to punch up the tablescape, while cream-colored china finishes off the look. to really push the elegance factor, a capiz shell curtain adds just the right touch when draped from the ceilings.

For the favors, we also turned to the incomparable Martha Stewart for inspiration and knew we’d struck gold when we saw the tiny sandpails filled with rock candy “rocks”! It’s such a simple – yet fun – touch that you and your attendants can easily make for your event. The tags are easy to do on a printer (the wording is “A pail of sweet treats”), then you cut out the strips and wrap them around the pail’s handle, and secure with double-sided tape. Fill with candy and set in a flat tray with turbinado sugar “sand”.

The chuppah is inspired by one that was featured on the South Florida Wedding Designs site. They used bamboo poles to form the basic frame, then draped opaque chiffon over the tops and down the sides. The tiebacks are clusters of flowers and greenery and there is a beautiful floral arrangement adorning the bower. It’s the perfect setting for saying your vows!

Sakura - Cherry Blossom: May 2011 style board

For our May style board, we were inspired by the delicate beauty of cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms are only available for our viewing pleasure for a brief time during spring, but for those of us wanting to keep their beauty around a little bit longer, there’s inspiration to be found in this month’s post.

We are so excited to be able to offer in the boutique this fall the debut line of dresses by SOCIAL, a highly-anticipated new division of The Dessy Group.

This new line features 8 stunning designs in the inaugural collection and will be available in sizes 0 – 30 and an array of different colors. Each dress is made to order of the highest quality materials, so you will be getting an item that has to be specially ordered as opposed to something off-the-rack.

As this is for the Fall 2011 season, we will begin taking orders after the end of July. Standard production will take up to 12 weeks, but Rush Cuts are available for a nominal surcharge and will take up to 8 weeks for production.
